Bottle at Fastelavn Smagning 2014 @ J&C’s beer palace, Jutland Saturday Session 2 - 01/03/14. Nice bottle - a stubby 750, the most pleasing aspect of this series of beers!!! Light black with little in the way of a head. Nose is big roasted tones, spice, dark chocolate, molasses, tar. Taste comprises roast malts, earthy tones, lactic ring, dark fruits, toffee, bitter notes. Medium bodied, limited carbonation, semi drying close. Mediocre for style, unbalanced, too bitter and this was one of the better ones from the series!

Bottle, 75cl. A dark brown to black beer with a small, light tan head. The aroma is roasted and lightly burnt, with some dried fruits. The flavor has the same roasted and burnt malts found in the aroma, with a nice hoppy and roasted malt kind of bitterness. It’s quite sourish, semi-dry and with a very soft carbonation. Oily. Lasting roasted and burnt finish. Not my kind of imperial stout this one, it’s too roasted and burnt, and sort of one dimensional. 140301
