A deep red ale with rich rounded malt behind a gently aromatic & herbal bouquet. Pilgrim hops add a fruity note and a hint of spice. A warming and restorative, robust ruby ale.

500ml Flasche. Ins Glas ergießt sich ein leicht trübes orangerotes Bier mit geringer cremigen Schaumkrone. Geruch unangenehm röstmalzig, bitter. Geschmack röstmalzig, muffig, unangenehm würzig bitter, eigenartig.

Bottle 500ml (AbM)
Deep copper color, medium-sized beige head. Woody - fresh wood - aroma. LIght-bodied. Odd wood and "pencil" flavor. Harsh nutty and dry aftertaste. Light tart note in the finish. Something gone wrong in this batch, but no butterscotch like in Danes bottle.

Bottle at Fastelavn Smagning 2014 @ J&C’s beer palace, Jutland Saturday Session 2 - 01/03/14. Hazed orange/dark amber with moderate off white spotting. Nose is butter balls, raw cake mix, buttered muffins. Taste follows the Country Life theme, light fruits, butterscotch, bready . Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Diacetyl fuelled butter wank off !

Bottle. An almost clear one, dark amber in color and with a small, dense, off-white head. The aroma has loads and loads of butterscotch, some toffee and fruityness going on as well. The flavor too is very much on the butterscotch side, pushing everything else in the back. Some dried fruits and a bready touch. Full body, nice carbonation level. Overall, the beer is ruined by the butterscotch. Probably not deserving my score. 140301
