Golden in colour, a pale ale in style: fresh-tasting and with good malt backbone. Hoppy without being aggressively front-loaded, the beer showcases the fruit and pine notes of the US Simcoe hop. Bottled for M&S.

Really descent session pale. Nice use of Simcoe. Could be fresher. Great malt. Clean and drinkable. Tiny amount of crystal but no big deal.

Cask at teh Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. A pale amber pour with a tight white head; light citrus aroma; thin in the mouth with a soft lemony body and some tangerine; then a dry finish. A bit of a disappointment from a brewery I hold in high regard. OK, but needs twice the hops. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Single Variety American Hop Simcoe Pale Ale on 17 Jun 2016 at 10:55 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6. Original review text: 50cl bottle from M&S, Camberley. A pale amber pour with a fast settling white head; attractive berry fruit aroma; soft and flabby in the mouth with a indistinct fruity taste; and a muddled finish with a grassy bitterness. Good in parts.
