Bottle from Systembolaget, e-order in December 2013. Black with a small tan head. Aroma and taste of ginger, licorice, light roasted malt and some tobacco. Actually quite balanced and not too heavy.

Bottle. A black one, topped by a finger-thick tan head. The aroma has ginger, chocolate, coffee, licorice, cardamom and cloves. Really pleasant actually. Sweet flavor with chocolate and coffee dominating. Cardamom, cloves and ginger. Licorice notes towards the end. Full-bodied, lighlty warming and a tad sticky on the palate. Cocoa in the finish, with some cinnamon notes. A really nice one, but too spiced. Still I like it a lot. 140416

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 10%. Black volour, moderate tan head. Sweetish aroma with strong notes of raisins, ginger and cinnamon, hints of chocolate and cloves. Medium sweet and very spicy flavour, notes of ginger, cloves and black pepper, hints of cinnamon. Distinct and sharp bittering hops (too much). Moderate sweetish malts with mild coffee and chocolate notes. Could have been so much better - again a Christmas beer from Stronzo that I won’t buy again. Why do these guys hate Christmas?

Flaske 0,33l. Gave fra Rune. Fortært i Skibotn 20 Des 13. Kullsort. Høyt mokkafarget skum som varer lenge. Mye lacing. Kraftig aroma av jul! Granbar. Krydder. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken er ennå mere jul med tilføyelse av pepperkaker. Avslutningen er tørr med innslag av nellik & pepper. Skikkelig juleøl.

0.33l bottle. Really deep dark and brown - not to far from what is within the OK group to call black actually and it has a wonderfully lacing deep dark brown cappuccino head. Gingerly spicy on the nose this, and quite lots of it! Can't say that anything has been saved on here. Pumpkin-ginger with nutmeg, chocolate, lots of roasted goodness and a little bit of vanilla. Lots of aroma! It has a thick almost chewy mouthfeel and a soft prickling carbonation level. Lots of Christmassy flavors also. Spicy indeed and then ginger theme goes again in the taste also. Lots of pumpkin spicy things here, nutmeg and tea. In between all the spices a nice dark chocolate roastiness shines through with soft hints of vanilla. Not something I want to drink loads of in one setting but as a Christmas beer this was quite within the parameters. 01.11.2013

Bottle at home. Has a black colour with a big, light brown, coffee-like head. Nice! The aroma is a mix between roasted malt and spices where ginger, leather, coffee, cloves and dried meat being the most dominant. The flavour is very roasted with more coffee, leather and oak. Has a slick and rich mouthfeel, and a medium bitterness. A spicy and nice imperial stout with well roasted flavour. A wonderful beer for dessert.
