Bottle thanks to a trade with ratman. Pours with a massive white head with good retention over a mostly clear, golden body. Aromas are interesting, a bit of an herbal mint quality, spicy grape character, very fruity, lilikoi/passion fruit (muscat), spicy oak, vinous, lots of wood character (vanillin and sawdust). Flavors show a lot of tropical fruit notes/esters (probably from the muscat). Very dry, somewhat thin, medium acidity and mild brett. Lively bubbles, super dry, a bit of a berry like note. Zippy feel overall. Lots of oak and tannin. Tasty beer!

Bottle @ home. Pours a mostly clear, golden appearance with a fizzy white head that dissipates in seconds. A touch funky (very light though), white wine, apple, pear, light citrus fruity, effervescent nose. A touch tangy, apple/pear/apricot fruity, white wine, light wheat malty flavor that’s bubbly and effervescent. Easy to drink. The brett didn’t do a lot (a little though) for the beer and I imagine it’s due to the yeasts/bacteria that were on the grapes prior to fermentation- Avery didn’t use sulfites and said they wanted to embrace whatever was on the grapes previously. The Chardonnay barrels aren’t coming through all that much, so maybe this could use a little more time. There are some nice, light fruit elements to the beer.
