tap, bocktown, better than expected. Nice and dark. Decent roasty mild dark beer smell. A little tart in the background, welcomed. Controlled roasty bitterness. Overall a pretty good example of what a friendly dark beer should be. Borders on Schwartz and dark lager, fer sure.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a murky dark brown color with a medium sized foamy off white head that faded and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was woody, nutty and dry with a bit of leather. The flavor was bitter with notes of wood, chocolate, nut, fruity hops, leather and a sour off undertone. Medium length wood, sour nut and leather finish. Medium body. Pretty nasty really.
