Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a large fluffy brown head that lingered but left minimal lacing. The aroma was roasty and toasty malts with vanilla. The flavor was bitter, roasty and pretty smoky. Long smoky finish. Moderately full bodied and smooth. Meh.

Cask. One beautiful pour, rolling black drink ends with a flat choco moose head. Great from the start. One of the best looking pours in a long time. Mild friendly roasty aroma. No co2 on the palate of course. Taste is simple plain good stout, tasty. Yummy too. Hides alky well. Civilized. A fine old country example, on style.
