They make this beer under a bunch of different names - this time I had it they were calling it 3rd quarter porter - but the alcohol % and description were virtually identical. +++ Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a large foamy dark tan head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was faint tangy malty and wood. The flavor was dryish and a bit roasty with touches of cola, vanilla, cocoa and wood. Medium length dryish and roasty finish with touches of cola, wood and vanilla lingering. Eh.

Pours like a big black stout. Smells like a leathery saddle. More stronger than the stout of the same day but has about the same taste. Although @ 6.1% it does make its point on the tongue alky wise, its rather mild for a stronger porter. Leathery flavors come thru along with that smell. Cannot taste the chocolate that is described in the commercial description. OK beer tasting experience. Not as good as many other porter Iβve had, but OK for a dark beer.
