Nice beer on cask at the Royal Oak. Pleasant bready pale malts, low bitterness, some British yeast, nip of vanilla, biscuit. Highly drinkable.

Cask at the Royal Oak. It pours clear golden with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, bitter - sweet, sweetish, bready malt, biscuit, snappy, oatcakes and egg & cress sandwich. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, chewy, biscuit, drying, toasty oatcakes, toasty grains, pleasing fruity character, dried fruits, berry and orchard fruits and earth with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate, supportive carbonation. Lovely carbonation. Subtle complexity.

Take out. Pours a pale gold colour with a tight white, light hop aroma with hints of citrus, the taste is medium bitterness with a dry bitter finish.

Can from the brewery shop, Lewes. Ticks the necessary pale ale boxes with enough hop to get by but it comes across as too close to a bitter in the ending. Percentage shows sadly.

Cask at the St Albans beer festival 2024. A clear bright golden coloured pour with a lasting loose white head. Aroma is earthy, classic eggy Harvey's yeast notes, pine. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, earthy Harvey's yeast, green apple. Not bad.
