Évaluation no.47 Décembre 2010 Aucun nez perçu. De couleur brune avec une mousse persistante et onctueuse. Maltée avec un caramel persistant, des relents de fruits confits et un soupçon de cannelle.

500 ml bottle. Pours a dark mahogany with huge head and lots of carbonation. Aromas of vegetable juice, licorice, and over ripe dark fruit. Flavors are similar with the addition of dates, tobacco, and dark caramel. Slightly sour finish.

Bottled. Deep amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, some mild spices. Flavour is toffee, mild liquorice, some spices and a bit of alcohol. Smooth. Very nice.

Pours dark brown with a small head. Aroma of syrup, dark ripe fruits, plums, spices and bready notes. Taste is sweet, malty and spicy with notes of plums, dark ripe fruits and bready notes. Finish is sweet, smooth and fruity. Okay, quite balanced but sweet dubbel.

Aroma has soapy apricot, some sugary notes and hints of alcohol. Flavour is rather sweet with slightly burned (or brown) sugar, some apricot, ripe fruits, hints of alcohol and distant spicy notes. The appearance of a dubbel, the flavour is somewhere between belgian blonde and dubbel. And closer to the blonde

500ml bottle. Clear ruby red glowing dark brown colour with small to average, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Fruity aroma has notes of red and dark berries, plum, cherries, dry hints of fruit parings, a touch of liquorice. Taste is moderately sweet fruity, hints of black cherries, dark berries, plum, a tart touch, dry hints of fruit parings, some liquorice with a very cautious salty touch; soft carbonation, smooth, soft, minimally sticky palate. Complex, thereby very well balanced. Superb.

Bouteille 500ml. De couleur brune et claire. Nez de réglisse noire, de malt toffee, de levures épicées (léger de poivre et de clou de girofle, notes de muscade) et moyennement fruité (figues, léger de raisins avec des traces dagrume sucrées, de prunes et de pommes) avec des notes d’alcool et de sucre brun. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture légèrement crémeuse. Goût de levures fruitées (raisins aux notes vineux, léger d’agrumes très sucrées, notes de figues, de prunes et de pommes) et assez épicé (moyen de muscade et d’anis, notes de clou de girofle) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel vient se joindre un goût malté de caramel toffee, léger sucre brun avec des traces de sucre bonbon puis une finale l’on retrouve une légère amertume d’alcool doux avec des notes poivrées et de houblon herbeux. Post-goût long et un peu sec, légèrement amer d’alcool très doux, moyen d’anis avec des notes fruitées (léger de moût de raisins et notes de figues).

9.0% bottle. Hazy dark brown beer, short lived pale tan head. Airy palate, dry. Sweet airy malt. Trace of mild chocolate. Coca cola and tame ginger. Dry finish with a sweet minerally aftertaste. Unusual taste profile. Works for me!
