His Dudeness, oftwel De Dude, werd ‘geboren’ na het zien van cultfilm The Big Lebowski van de Coen brothers. In de film sloeg hoofdpersoon ‘The Dude’ Lebowski de ene na de andere White Russian achterover. Tot die tijd werd de cocktail (van wodka, koffielikeur en room of melk) standaard bestempeld als een ouderwets en saai drankje, maar eind jaren tachtig beleefde de White Russian dankzij de film een ware revival en waren de cocktails nauwelijks aan te slepen. Onze ‘White Russian’ werd een Russian Imperial Milk Stout. Een krachtig, maar ‘easy going’ bier voor iedereen die zich wel eens El Duderino wil voelen.

Bottle, almost black. Roast, milk chocolate and caramel in the aroma and flavor. Malty sweet, but the roastiness compensates a lot. Dry finish.

Tap at Grote Kerk. Dark brown with white head. Sweet roasted malts, very very fruity. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation.

Tap at NBPF. Black with dark brown head. Roast, blackberries, sweet chocolate, red currants, sickly sweet lactose powered fudge, cocoa, light herbs. Quite sweet and medium bitter. Over medium bodied.

7 3 8 4 16Draft at The Hague festival ‘18. Black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, fudge, coffee and caramel. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle shared @ Koelschtrinker's place. Smooth mild chocolate coffee beginning. Very mild and easy to drink, smooth chocolate and espresso. round and smooth. Nice one!

33cl bottle. A dark brown beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of liqourice, dark malt, chocolate. Taste of sweet roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, cookies. Okay!

Stark malziger, süß malziger Beginn. Weich, etwas Karamell, geringe Herbe, fein würzig, rund. Süffig würzig, trocken bitter, langer Nachhall. Gelungen. 10/9/10/10/10/10

Black with lasting thin head. Texture is very thick and oily. In the background of the flavout there's some caramelised red fruit accompanying the dark malts. Sweet and rich.

Imperial milk stout from a brewery in Harlingen, thanks Craftmember! Membranously lacing, pale greyish beige, dense and moussy head, black robe with hazy burgundy-brown edges. Aroma of fresh black coffee, butterscotch, bayleaf, toasted walnuts, light beef stock cube somewhere, dry hay, bitter chocolate bars, dried tea leaves, wet toast, cloves, liquorice, nutmeg, leather. Sweetish onset, some dried fig, nutty from the start with a sourish undertone of dried blackcurrant, softish carbo, thick and oily, full body without being very creamy (admittedly I was expecting a bit more creaminess due to the added lactose). Nuttiness goes on through the middle phase, pleasantly bittersweet with the bittering, black toast-like aspect more prominent towards the finish, where pleasant spicy and hoppy bitter notes appear alongside a warming, whisky-like but nowhere astringent alcohol effect. I don't quite get the "milk" part in this imperial milk stout, but other than that, this is a very decent, albeit somewhat 'generic' strong stout.
