Slightly higher in alcohol content than traditional Wits, ours is brewed using wheat, oats, authentic Belgian yeast, malts and just a sprinkle of hops. Spices include coriander, sweet and bitter orange peel and grains of paradise.

Deep hazy golden coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall microfoam whtie head - this IS exactly what a belgie white should look like, complete with a zillion small bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. Aroma of pale malt, wheat, coriander seed, curacao and a ton of yeast - this is a great smelling beer as well. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence with a ton of spice flavours at first, fading almost immediately to a yeast and wheat kick, then showing some alcohol, a hint of caster sugar sweetness and a nice complex, dry hay flavour. Overall, a very nice Wit, probably one of the best I’ve had in the style for some time, not sure how they could improve this one. I sampled this 65 cL bottle (batch #11, 5.4% abv) purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 24-October-2012 for US$3.99 sampled at home in Washington on 20-November-2012.

22 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, release #10 bottled 5/31/2012. Pours lightly hazy golden straw color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of big lemon zest, orange zest, orange rind, coriander, clove, pepper, wheat, ginger, earth, floral, and light herbal. Damn nice aromas with good balance, strength, and complexity. Taste of big lemon zest, orange peel, coriander, ginger, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, floral, earth, grass, and herbal. Lingering notes of citrus, coriander, clove, pepper, ginger, wheat, grass, and herbal on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic flavor balance and complexity; with a great malt/spice balance; zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a lightly creamy and very crisp and prickly mouthfeel that is very nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent witbier! Great flavor balance and complexity; very smooth a crisp to drink. Highly enjoyable offering; exceeded my expectations.

Refrigerated 22 oz brown bomber poured into a weizen glass. Pours hazy golden with small white head which dissapates quickly. No lacing, medium body, low carbonation, and grains of paradise/lemon aroma. Taste is grains of paradise, coriander, lemon, some pepper, and finishes bitter orange peel. Better wit beers out there.
