Pint Can. Pours a nearly opaque dark brown color with a small beige head. The aroma is mostly well roasted grains and perhaps some semi-sweet malts, The taste is more of the same; well roasted or burnt grains, semi sweet malts some walnuts and some bread. Bitterness is light. The palate is medium in viscosity with soft carbonation. Finishes long with lingering burnt grains. Overall: Decent--but this is not an amber lager unless they changed the SRM definition. This is a bock or black lager.

Pint can. Roasted malt aroma with notes of caramel, toffee, bready malt and toasted malt. Pours dark caramel colored with a finger of tan head that has excellent retention and little lacing. Starts with caramel malt, roasted malt and bready malt flavors. Finishes smooth toasted malt and toffee flavors. Pretty nice amber.

16 oz. can at the Buena Viking. The can says 'Amber Ale' and 4.5%. Light toffee, spruce, lavender, chalk, and hay. Sweet and malty and yeasty. Mild bitterness. Light body, sticky, and fairly crisp. Mellow and pretty tasty.

Amber-brown colour. Toasty-chocolate aroma is almost porterish. Toasty, slightly nutty character. Well-made. Light hop bitterness is in balance.
