Pours very cloudy/murky...medium brown-orange with a thin soapy cap. Aroma Is caramel, dark fruit, a little diacetyl tomato/bloody mary-ness. Taste is spicy, peppered, raisin and dark, sweet fruit. Increasing pepper and spice. Really a nice sipper. Even better as it warms.

Bottle from Total Wine, Henderson, NV
Dark color, amber- mahogany, hazy, with creamy persistent head. It has a nice aroma of malt, sweet, with some caramel. Full bodied, malty, sweet, with light toffee and fudge character; correct bitterness.
Straightforward, balanced, pleasant, not complex; the aroma is better than the final.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 9/10/12
Aroma: The nose is fairly heavy boozy, heavy sweet malts/caramel, and some dark fruits
Appearance: This one pours a muddy dark orange-brown color with a small beige head
Flavor: The taste has a lot of sweet malts/caramel, with some booze, and minimal bitterness
Palate: The body is medium-plus, it is fairly heavily stickiness to the feel, and a pretty hot finish
Overall Impression: Overall, this Barley Wine wasn't really that impressive in my opinion. It's basically just sweet caramel and boozy heat, without much of anything else around to add balance or complexity. I didn't hate it, but I can't see any reason to go higher on the score then this.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy caramel color with a large foamy orange tan head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was strong piney and grapefruity hops with undertones of caramel, molasses, brown sugar and a hint of cocoa. The flavor was strong pine, grapefruit and orange with moderate notes of toasted caramel, nut, molasses and brown sugar. The finish was long with molasses, pine and brown sugar lingering. Thick and full bodied.
