Chad’s beer is a ramped-up Barley Wine Style Ale. Rich, malty and multi-layered, this baby has some intensity to it. You’ll find it pours amberish with an off-white head of foam and moderate dried fruit and hop notes. You’ll also get a little biscuity, carmely, toffee flavored goodness in there. This thing is, in a word, BIG.

Clear reddish amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, heavy caramel and dried fruit. Flavor is very sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish with warming alcohol. 111113

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich fruits, caramel, malt, hops and has a nice full body. Very rich.

Draft. From notes. Caramel, toffee, and loads of dark fruits. Low on the hop end. Really good beer. I wish i had a bottle to let mellow for a bit. This one is still thick and a little boozy.

Bottle. Rich amber beer with a dark cream head. Caramel and fruity aroma. Caramel and toffee flavor with dried fruit and some red fruit. Medium-plus bodied. Caramel and light toffee lingers with light alcohol and dried fruit.

22oz bomber. Amber-brown body. Thin, patchy, soapy head. 12.5% is pretty impressive without the addition of any bonus sugar. This is a pretty solid Barleywine. Big, sugary dark fruit tones. The Rye adds some unique depth, balancing the tastes out. Sweet and massive, but still pretty drinkable. A pleasant surprise.
