Cask at Birmingham Beer Fest 2012; Didn’t realise this was a wheat beer when I was tasting as poured a clear gold, no haziness that you expect with a wheat. Fruity aroma, tastes very citrusy with a bitter hop bite.

Cask at GBBF. It pours clear straw yellow, with a thin white head. The nose is lemon, soap, lemon meringue pie and light wheat. The taste is lemon pith, subtle wheat, straw, hay, perky tangy fruitiness and light spice, with a dry, bitter finish. Light-medium body and soft carbonation. Pretty decent all-round.

Has some citrus hints in its aroma and taste, but is mainly a nicely crisp ale.

Another citrusy flavoured beer from Salopian: surely not! One and a half pints: hand-pulled in a local pub on 12 April 2012. Pours a clear and clean golden colour (almost lager like). The head starts thin and gets thinner very quickly, a pity. The smell is all citrus fruit, lemon being the one my nose found first, second and third. The taste is also very hop citrusy bitter with very little malt presence to be found. Medium bodied and refreshing, not really my bag, which is why I had an extra half to get a balanced feel for this write-up.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 26 April 2012) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity nose with citrus, lemon peel, grass and biscuits. Fruity taste with notes of lemon, citrus peel, grass, biscuity malt and a refreshing citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with just a touch of sweetness. Wheat beer with lemon is not really my favourite beer style, but this was quite refreshing. (6/3/7/3/13=3.2) Rerate: (Cask at White Horse, Parson's Green, London, 12 May 2024) Golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of citrus, peaches and biscuits. Fruity, slightly malty taste with citrus, lemon, apricots, biscuits and a mild citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and refreshing. Nice one.

On cask, gravity at Shrewsbury Folk Festival weekend of 26,27,28,29th August 2011 Fruity with some citrus but not so lemony. There is a medium bitterness to this, some dryness at the end, a good effort from Salopian as you would expect but I would have wished for some more lemoneyness from this. A7 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.3
