White Hawk is a traditional IPA .The IPA recipe is based on the original 1880 brew that was sent to India for the British troops. The advent of India Pale Ale was born of a need to supply beer in the 1800’s to British troops in India. This hearty, heavily hopped ale was brewed to endure the rigors of the long voyage from Great Britain.

White Hawk Original IPA was launched in California in early 2002 to meet the demand for a unique India Pale Ale. Consumer response for White Hawk IPA exceeded expectations and it is fast gaining a loyal following both in 6 pack and on draft.

Poured a murky, orange amber with red hues that had a frothy white head. Hoppy, citrus aroma. Extremely hoppy flavor, more so than the aroma lets on. Bitter at the start and the finish, citrus, piney and slightly soapy. Full bodied with just a hint of the extra alcohol. Nice beer, not super acidic despite the ultra-hop flavor.

Pours amber into a shaker. Off-white conglomerae head leaves significant lacing as it recedes. Flower and citrus aromas. Upfront sweet caramel resin with a sharp grapefruit finish.

A hazy orange beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of both hops and flowers. The flavor is sweet and very dry with light notes of pine, leading to a bitter end. A boring IPA.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) The labels credits this to Mendocino Brewing in Saratoga Springs, NY. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head leaving laces. Fresh and fruity aroma - grapefruit. Medium body, lightly sweet malt base is overpowered by a distinct, bitter finish. A rather brutal and one-dimensional bitterness without much refinement. 200606

12oz bottle-pours a thin light tan head that reduces quickly. Color is clear gold. Aroma is musty, earthy, malt, hops. Taste is strong grapefruit hops with a bite. Good carbonation, then malt comes through. Unpleasant aftertaste.

bottle - Medium, rapidly fading head, the usual hoppy aroma, as others have said it’s a bit subdued for an IPA. Well masked alcohol, hoppy, lingering aftertaste.

Bottle Pours a hazy deep golden amber witha dense yellowish off white head. Nice sweet hoppy aroma Honey and light malts. Flavor has that same light malt flavor that is quite sweet like warm toast with butter and honey. Hops are not very prevelant esp for the style. Feel is a very rich and quite heavy. Aftertaste is where much more of the hops bitterness comesthrough and realy stays with you.

Bottled. Pale amber, rich head. Rich grapefruity hop aroma. Sweet and full bodied with clean, straightforward malt character and an abundance of hops that dominates every aspect of this beer. The bitterness is so big it turns almost inky. Flavourful, but bold and not overly complex example of the style.
