We could tell you that our new ale has a deep amber colour, a light hoppy aroma and a rich and rounded malty taste balanced by subtle hoppiness, to give a supremely clean, smooth and refreshing ale. But there's no need really. Suffice to say that we think we've created a modern classic here and we're pretty confident that you'll agree.

2016 catch up - Bottle at home - A slightly odd flowery/metallic flavour to the beer that I felt overwhelmed its base "bitterness." It was ok, but that background flavour started to dominate the palate and spoilt the whole thing. It was very different from the beer I tried on the brewery stall at the county show. Overall not one that I would buy again.

From cask at the 26th East Anglian Beer & Cider festival, Bury St Edmunds. Pours clear amber with a small white head. Aroma of hop, biscuit, caramel and malt. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Light body, slight oily texture, average carbonation but a fizzy mouthfeel. Finish is sweet and biscuity.

Has a soft watery malt aroma, like your graham crackers cereal without the milt. Has an okay head and crystal brown body. Flavour is maltiness with some cereal. It’s very watery, the kind of poor mouthfeel I really don’t like about some of these English ale. It’s just weak and boring.

Cask at the Lyric. It pours clear deep amber with a small white head. The aroma is malt loaf, brown bread, earth, wood, leather and cardboard. The taste is bitter, brown bread, earth, leather, light spice, damp cardboard with a dry, leathery finish. Medium body and low carbonation. Pretty basic bitter.
