A very nice, highly addictive, RYE IPA. If a crack dealer was dealing beers, he would slang this beer because it will hook you.

On tap @ Black Bottle Fort Collins. Hazy, dark reddish orange appearance with a big off-white head. Aroma of light fruits (pears and apples), chemicals, perfume, and caramel. Medium body. High carbonation. Moderate high sweetness and bitterness. Bland and mundane IPA with lots of caramel and resiny, piney hops. Well below average IPA.

Sample at Falling Rock. Slightly hazy amber color with a medium thin white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, malt and fruit. Medium-bodied with flavors of herbal hops, citrus and roast malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a spicy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

It pours a dense, finger-thick light beige head under an unclear, dark golden body. The aroma has some milky hints, but it’s the hops that dominates. Grass, pine cones and a spiced, peppery touch. There’s some malty, toffee-ish hints too, both in the aroma and flavor. It’s quite bitter on the palate, dry and pleasantly carbonated. Full body. Bitter flavor with some toffee-ish malts in the back. Hay, grass and a peppery hint too. Not a favorite of mine, but at least it’s quenching and sort of tasteful. 131122
