20/2/2026. Bottle shared at the Queen Street Brewhouse, Colchester. Didn't note the vintage. Very nice.

Rather hazy, deep brown, full foamy head. Berry aroma, hints of banana too. Taste of dried fruit and berries. Full mouthfeel, alcohol is there but not too obvious. Balanced bitterness.

Nose is a gentle mixture of banana, honey, raisins and malt. The taste replicates the nose, but adds further complexity. Dark berries, brown sugar, tropical fruit and some soft spices are complimented by a very soft effervescence and appropriately rich body. As good as advertised (if you are not a hop head).

Old rating from 04-03-15 - 330ml bottle, pours a dark brown with a big off white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of caramel, dark fruits, coffee, wood, biscuits, citrus, vanilla, spices & hints of the strong alcohol. Light to medium body. Soft carbonation. Medium sweet finish. Outstanding

Bottle. Dark brown color, impressive taste with strong fruit flavors. A masterpiece in every sense.
