A new voyage into the world of dark and tempestuous bourbon-barrel-aged beers, Baltic Storm is Alesong's first Baltic Porter to be released. Baltic Porters are close cousins to imperial stouts, but typically with a more muted roast character and a low temperature lager fermentation that results in an exceptionally smooth final beer without any lactose additions. Baltic Storm was aged for the better part of a year in Elijah Craig 12 year bourbon barrels and presents layer upon layer of dark bakers’ chocolate alongside mild, barrel-induced, notes of spice vanilla, and bourbon. Balanced and ready to drink now, this beer will also age gracefully if you find yourself reaching for dark beers more often in the winter. Cheers to malt-forward beers, fair winds, and following seas!
