In the 1850s Barclay Perkins and Whitbread cornered the market for India Porter, the drink of the ordinary soldier. This porter is based on the Perkins recipe of pale, amber, brown and black malt with double the hops of a standard London Porter. Rich, complex and satisfying with a smooth taste and hoppy finish.

Cask at the Rake. Black with beige head. Chocolate, some roastiness, cocoa, dry and bitter in finish. Medium bodied.
