Här har du en glutenfri IPA i äkta Amerikansk anda. Bryggd på Amerikansk humle för den gräsiga doftens skull och med en krispig ton av citron. Ljus till färgen, med med tydliga malttoner och markerande beska, som sig bör. Vi tog oss friheten att bryta en och annan konvention längs vägen och döpte ölen därefter. Freedom IPA.

500 ml bottle bought through Systembolaget. Pours clear deep golden with a creamy white head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of lacing and trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and fruity with caramel, pineapple, grapefruit juice, lemon zest, tobacco, grass, pine and hints of green peas and old bread. Taste is sweet and bitter with freshly cut grass, pine, grapefruit juice, unripe mango, unripe pineapple, caramel, lemon zest and hints of sheet metal and alcohol. Mouthfeel is tiny watery, slightly crisp, slightly oily bitter and light to medium bodied. Finish is slightly sweet and bitter with freshly cut grass, oily pine, earthy tobacco, orange peal and lemon zest. Close to good but still has some off smell/flavor that needs some work.

Flaska från systembolaget. Relativt stiltypisk västkust-IPA. Karamellig maltbas, rejäl grapebeska, tall, resin, lätt oljig. Lite söt för min smak men annars riktigt välgjord. Slottskällans renovering av sin ölportfölj håller på att skapa Sveriges bredaste och kvalitetsäkraste utbud. Bravo!

(Draught at William K Kurvi, 20120127) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had blackcurrant leaves, nettles and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, blackcurrant leaves, pine, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. Nice hoppiness and balanced beer.

Pours dark orange with a small hazy head. Aroma has notes of exotic fruits, malts, caramel and toffee. Taste is quite malty and slightly sweet with notes of exotic fruits, pine and hops. Smooth, fruity and slightly bitter finish. Nice, quite well balanced malty and fruity IPA.

(Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 7 Oct 2011) Amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of orange peel, toast and hints of pine needles. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, toast, orange peel and slightly piney hops in a fairly bitter finish. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Nice one.

Draught@SBWF2011. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, earth and some mild bready notes. Flavour is fruity and floral hops along with some caramel and crystal maltyness. Quite standard, but pleasantly balanced IPA.
