Bottle, 25cl. It pours an oily, flat, brown body without head. The aroma has lots of chocolate and dried fruits, with a boozy touch, caramel, prunes, dried figs, dark sugar notes, rum, some licorice and a leathery touch. It’s full-bodied and warming on the palate, with quite a lot of sweetness. Lots of flavors too, dark sugar, leather, molasses, rum, dried figs and a touch of licorice. Definitely a tasteful one, a sipper that hides the alcohol very well. Is it really at 24%? Don’t know, but it’s sure a strong one. Nice. 141213

07.12.2013, tap @ Henrik Øl og Vinstove:
Tiny shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet, caramel malts, butterscotch, raisins, dark sugar, toffee, licorice, dough, hints of alcohol. Taste is rich and sweet, caramel malts, raisins, dark sugar, butterscotch, toffee, licorice, almond essence, alcohol, cardboard, oak, harsh grass. Longlasting bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Nice enough, but would have been a lot better if it had not been for the bullshit tap lines @ Henrik.

On tap @ Henrik. It actually has a little head this. Bubbly and not to big, but definitely present. The beer itself is really deep dark brown in color and the little head in top has a mild brown looking color. Surprisingly soft and low on the nose. Was expecting a monster, but this is quite gentle and kind. Perhaps a bit cold, so I'll give it some time. A wise decision if I may say so, cause this smells absolutely fantastic! After about 10 minutes it has opened up from a shy almost non existing generic dark ale to a aromous aroma bomb with a ton of dark glazed fruity sweetness combined with all sorts of things. The main role goes to the sweet dark raisins. So present here! As is dates with mild tarmac, almonds, prunes and woody bourbon. It also has hints of warming alcohol, tobacco and something wood burned. Sweet! Lots and lots of flavor! The alcohol is somehow not disturbing at all (could be the fact that this is not exactly the first today, but still). It's really thick and syrupy in the mouth this, but it has a mild soft prickling carbonation level. Super dark and burned bitter raisins with wood and dark sugars. The tarmac sticks in the taste as well, and it has leathery touch to it. A bit like Tasting the loft at your grandma's house. Ends smoky and that smoky touch kinda overwhelms the aftertaste for some time. A really flavorful and powerful one! Can't even imagine how this was when it was twice the strength... 06.12.2013

Draught@CPH BF 2013. Rubyish brown colour with minor head. Aroma is dry dark fruits, some sweet malts and rye bready notes. Flavour is sweet ryebready malts, caramel, some dry fruits, raisins, plum and quite bunch of alcohol, but 24 % sounds a bit too much (or optimistic).

Taster at the ratebeer meetingpoint, ØK 13, third day.Tiny layer at the top of a clear mahogany coloured body. Dried fruity aroma, including apricot, and earthy malt. Powerful taste of bread-like malts, caramel and dried fruits like apricots, figs, and prunes. Strong and warming down the swallow, but does not feel as high as 24 % abv. Interesting brew (Copenhagen 25.05.2013).
