Our first ever collaboration brew on our current brew system was with Morgan and his team, and to this day that beer is still one of our favorite beers we’ve made. We’ve done a handful of collabs together since and each time it’s a blast hanging together and we leave stoked, a little buzzed, and truly inspired. They are great people making some of our favorite beers. They also share a love for the album Liquid Swords. Very important.
Enough sappy stuff. Let's talk about the beer. We kept the grain bill simple, hopped this beer with Saaz and then sent it to the tank to ferment away. Spunded, then lagered for months till we reached a natural carb. Tasting notes of dark chocolate, a hint of toffee & molasses bread.

Can (2/14/24) pour from Andover Classic Wines. Opaque dark brown with trace sparkle, ephemeral head and no lacing. Aroma is strong molasses, sweet malt, and hint of anise. Taste matches aroma. Smooth, mildly frothy texture, medium bodied, finish as taste. Good. More molasses than other BP I remember--not that that's a bad thing.

Late night finishing a movie. Dark black pour. Nose is chocolate and licorice. Tastes much the same with some molassses, dark fruits to boot. Rich and smooth.
