Blackinton is our Dark Lager. Made on a base of German Pilsner & Munich malts with supported Chocolate, Amber & Carafa malts. It pours a deep brown with ruby highlights and a creamy tan head. Flavors of toasted bread and bakers cocoa with balanced bitterness and a bright & dry finish. Extraordinarily drinkable, perfect for late winter and early spring days.

Can pour from Andover Classic Wines. It's a hazy dark, dark brown with nice sparkle, 5-finger (!) foamy light brown head with excellent retention and nice soapy lacing. Aroma is dry, earthy roasted European malts, brown bread and a hint of fruit. Taste is mix of caramel, chocolate and European malts. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, frothy texture, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, as advertised, the more bitter, European version of the style vs. sweeter American version. Decent. Annoying head.
