Sample at the brewpub. This beer pours a clear brown color with a medium thin foamy light beige head that dissipates gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Malt, caramel and hops in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of roasted malt and piney hops. The finish is roasty with a mild earthy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a dark brown color with some orange highlights and an enormous foamy orange-beige head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was ripe dark fruits, wood and a bit of roasty malts. The flavor was tangy and bitter with notes of sugar, ripe fruits, wood, nut and roasty malts. The finish was long, dry, bitter and roasty.Light to medium body. Ok.

On tap at the Bocktown. Nice brown pour with a tan creamy head. No smell per se. Good carbonation. Initial darker beer and bitter flavors. Medium strong personality. Some farmy attitudes and this stuff is not bad. Perhaps a little more bitter than this lager lover cares for. Finish is medium long bitter medicinal linger.
