Sampled at the Map Room this beer poured a dark red-brown color with a trace tan head. The aroma was lightly bitter, woody and smokey. The flavor was bitter, nutty, lightly woody and had sharp fruity hops. The finish was long, bitter and nutty. Decent.

On tap at the brewery. A British mild ale I’m told. Tan looking and quite cloudy, love those unfiltered beers. has an old wood heady aroma. Tho there are said to be little hops in this, it does have a bitter building sensation which does not hide. Gamely flavor and fairly creamy. Bitterness continues to build thru the session but it never gets over the top, its controlled and quite pleasing, interesting citrus or something flavors during the beginning and in the body of the taste. I say citrus for lack of a better pointed taste description and it’s something pointed alright. Finish lingers for a while. Building mild medicinal rises to a medium level on the back of the throat.
