Blast Furnace Stout

The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated pretty quick. Streamy lace.
The aroma had a good amount of roasted dark malts, substantial milk chocolate tones, some dark chocolate, some woodiness and a little bit of smoke.
The flavor was towards the roasty side at first and bit into the sweetness slightly. Long roasty aftertaste and finish.
The palate was about medium bodied and leaning towards a decent sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Roastiness doesn’t feel a bit bigger than expected but I didn’t mind.
Overall, pretty damn good stout that I would love to have again.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a minimal foamy brown head that left a touch of lacing. The aroma was vanilla cream, coffee and toffee. The flavor was toffee, coffee, vanilla and faint roasty malts. Long finish of vanilla, toffee and coffee. Medium body and smooth. Solid.

On tap at the CBW. Big black pour. No head, just little bubles on the inside edge. There is nice lacing tho even if there is no head, kinda wierd. Almost mild on the palate. Roasty backgrounds on the back of the palate. Almost, but not quite bitter. Good example of a dark beer that is not offensive. Just enough personality to keep you interested but not enough to be cross. Decent mild stout, enjoyable and friendly. Finish is old washed out campfire coals.
