This stout has a very cool and wild tasting coffee in it from Pirates of Coffee in Toronto - it’s an anaerobic honey process coffee from La Riviera Farm in Colombia, with bright notes of caramelized banana, guanangana, yellow mango, and passionfruit. It’s unexpected, and very nice tasting with this chocolatey and delicious stout.

473ml can. Pours an opaque black with a medium, creamy, short lived, tan head that laces. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate and earth. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, licorice and coffee in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with a sticky, slightly creamy texture and soft carbonation. Could use a little more body, but still pretty tasty.

Poured from the tap @ The Drake. Very dark brown with small beige head. Green pepper coffee with some mild roast. Dry, the green pepper throws everything off.

On tap at Beere, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma has gentle coffee, some earthiness, and toasted malt. Flavour has a strange green peppery coffee expresion, with a dry earthy finish. That coffee doesn’t come out well at all, and the base beer is thin. Quite flawed.

4oz pour at the brewery. Pours murky brown with a beige head. Coffee, green pepper, and toasted malts on the nose. Flavour has thin coffee, green pepper, and stale toasted malts. Weak body. Very disappointing.
