Red Tail Ale - The Legend is our flagship brand. It is brewed in the traditional "old world" manner, using premium two-row malted barley, hops and our own special proprietary yeast strain. It is an amber ale with a rich complex refreshing flavor and a crisp dry finish. Red Tail Ale is "Bottle Conditioned." Like good wine, Red Tail Ale is a perfect complement to fine dining.

Bottle - Red fruits like cherry, a candy toffee sweetness and alcohol on the nose. Copper and clear with a light head. Brown/burnt sugar, some dark fruit again and hop bitterness. HIgh carbonation but light on the palate. Compared to others in this class, just not that great.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 6/13/12

Aroma: The nose is breads/grains, with some caramel, a little grass, and herbal notes
Appearance: Pours a clear caramel color with a clean foam of beige head, and coating, fading lace
Flavor: Tastes lightly sweet, mid-plus malty, grains/breads, balanced by the grassy and herbal hop bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, with average-to-lively carbonation, and it has a fairly dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this one was quite solid. I wasn't expecting anything special, and I didn't get anything too special either, just a solid Amber Ale: drinkable and with a solid flavor. You could certainly do much worse for what this was trying to be.
