Who can resist a firm Quadruple? The same extreme small crowd that can resist four charming and talented Spanish brewers! We have a better idea about what a day in a puppy daycare centre must be like after the brewers of Laugar, Guineu, La Pirata & Mad Brewing spend a day at our brewery to collaborate in this new quadruple-ish. Imagen all that energy…in a beer ;)

Pours a clear deep brown colour and a small beige head with short retention. Aroma's of dried fruit, raisins, a bit boozy, sugar. Retronasal follows this. Flavour is above moderate sweet, a bit alcoholic. Fairly strong alcohol feel. Medium to full bodied. Long finish. 2 years old, but still nice.

Bottle, dark brown color. Malt, toffee, butter, hints of fruit and alcohol in the aroma. Malty, alcoholic perfumed flavor. Sweet, varnish, butter. Very low on carbon. Somewhat disappointing.

De Molen brews are difficult to obtain when one lives in Texas but I think usually worth the effort. I picked up this 33 cl bottle at De Bierkoning in Amsterdam a couple of months ago while on a trip there. Hopefully De Molen can do with quadrupels that they do with imperial stouts. The bottle is opened and I pour into my ABGB snifter. Nice presence, I see a mahogany colored liquid topped by a slender amount of foam. The nose delivers raisin and grape, plum and a yeasty effect. But it is the taste I am here for. Whoa, a big improvement on the scent, there is fig, dark plum, some obvious oakiness, wheat bread, red licorice and a hint of vanilla, a nice addition. It is a bit boozy, an indication of the 14% ABV I assume. In hindsight I wish I had bought more than one bottle.

Robijn kleurig helder bier zonder schuim. Smaak is warm en licht zoet met iets van rozijnen en vijgen. Valt wat tegen, had er meer van verwacht.

Bottle from drinks&gifts. Dark brown colour, beige foam disappears quickly. Sweet, notes of dried fruit, figs and plums, some vanilla, light cognac. Bit woody and nutty. Also some dry notes.

Hazy brown, small light beige head. Aroma has figs and wood, alcohol. Sweet flavour, dried fruit, figs, wood. Boozy warmth, no surprise. Smells nice but tastes a little brutal.

Sampled @ Van Moll Fest 2018. Unclear red-brown color, average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, raisins, sweetish. Vanilla. Cognac BA perhaps? Tastes barrel aged to me anyway. Heavy. Solid beer imo. 8-4-7-4-15.
