The aroma offers up smooth sweet oxidized ripe brown sugar coated cherries, caramel, a bit more brown sugar and then a light toffee sensation just as the boozy heat hits at the end of the draw. The taste delivers lots of tasty residual sugars like caramel, nectar sweet malts and a bit of toffee flowing into brown sugar stewed dates and plums. Solid! It’s smooth and slick and sweet but it doesn’t get anywhere near being too much so. The booze and faint woody barrel character help create some balance to the sweetness that’s going on. Yeah, I could easily drink more of this.
