Cask at Brewery Tap, Chester. Pours a very dark reddish=brown with a medium sized foamy cream head and good lacing. Lactose and roasted malts to the fore in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet and creamy with initial flavours of caramel, fudge and lactose. After a while a salty tang comes through strongly alongside hints of nts and blackcurrant. Finish is slightly sweet. This a decent beer – though lacking a bit in stout character.
