Rare Bird is a unanimous favorite amongst our team and our customers, so we had to get it on the brew schedule again! We've partnered once again with Rare Bird Coffee, an artisanal roaster in Northern Virginia, to combine two of our favorite beverages into one tasty pint! This time we've selected Rare Bird's guatemala pulcal beans, with notes of hazelnut, apple, and fig. The result is a light golden pint that smells like coffee and tastes like beer, with a subtle roasty aftertaste and a fruity finish. A final touch of lactose keeps things creamy. Don't be fooled by the color -- we brewed a cream ale base to let this beautiful coffee shine without having to compete with roasted malts. Beer for breakfast? Yes, please.

Can at home. Looks flattish with dark tan coloration. Nose is coffee with cream. Tastes of softer coffee than expected, some milk, hint of malt and sarsaparilla. Smooth palate and easy drinking.

$3.85 pint can, Wine Warehouse. Medium golden pours with a soft off-white head. Aroma is lightly brewed coffee, grasses, green leaf. Flavor is fresh coffee, light green vegetation. A bit tangy off the bat but sweetens up slightly - not that this is sweet. The coffee is a nice addition... good flavor.

Draft pour at Spacebar. Poured a clear, slightly dark yellow color with a medium sized, white head. Aroma was pleasant, slightly green coffee. Some bitter notes, light green pepper, but this was pretty pleasant and easy to drink. Coffee finish with light sweet malts.
