Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk's place. Thanks kerenmk. Deep golden-amber. Malt, caramel, yeast, some spiciness, soap, a bit of fruitiness, some hops, sweetish, bitter finish. Quite messy.

33cl bottle. Da kann ich mich koelschtrinker nur anschließen. Vielen Dank für den Hinweis mit dem Gusher! Ich habe es direkt in der Spüle aufgemacht und das war sehr ratsam. Im Glas ist ein extrem trüber Trunk mit unzählig vielen kleinen Hopfenstücken. Der Schaum ist stabil, aber total durch den Hopfen verunreinigt. Der Geruch ist sehr grasig hopfig, trocken, Cannabis. Der Geschmack ist extrem bitter, grasig und kratzig, Cannabis, Pflanzen, Hopfenöle. Die Hopfenstücke im Bier sind unangehem. Sehr strange!

Gusher. Der Gusher bringt bis zu einem Zentimeter große Hopfenstücke aus der Flasche, handwerklich schlecht. Dumpf hopfiger, süßlich rauchiger Beginn. Muffig grasig, dagegen angenehm hefig-fruchtig, steigend bitter, weich bleibend. Süffig, langer Nachhall. Geschmacklich okay, aber dass ich hier auf Hopfen rumkauen muss wirkt dilettantisch. 4/9/10/9/9/9

330ml bottle [6.8% abv as per label]. Murky, dark amber colour with huge, frothy, very slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, off-white head. Smoky, ashy, woody, birch sap aroma, notes of red gooseberry, red currant, a waxy touch of green fruit peel, green wood, tannin, peppery yeasty overtones. Taste is bitter, minimally fruity hoppy, slightly smoky, hints of red fruit, some birch sap, green wood. Not really unbalanced, but untidy, unconnected, unorganised.

Tap(@Nikl, Pretzfeld):Deep golden to light amber coloured, hazy, creamy and rocky off-white head; sweetish fruity (raspberries and bubblegum!) and mild smoky nose; light to moderate sweetish flavour with a very delicate bitterness, barely medium bodied and a bit sticky; just a tinge of smoke in the slightly lingerng - and a bit drier - bitter-sweet finish. O.K., but really not earth-shaking…

Draught @ Brauerei Nikl, Egloffsteiner Strasse 19, Pretzfeld, Bavaria Germany 91362.ABV: 5.8%. Hazy medium orange colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, wheat, smoke, moderate to heavy yeasty, rubber, fruity. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, rubber, fruity, fresh, smoke notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130509]
