On tap at Prater Garten, Berlin. Dark mahogany with an off-white head. Malty aroma with mild caramel and herbal notes. Moderate to medium sweet, nice balanced with a mild bitterness. (Keg at Prater, Berlin, 20140420) The beer poured almost black. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had burnt malts and caramel. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, grass, caramel and bitterness. Aftetaste was sweet and bitter. A very nice schwarz.

Draught @ Prater Garten, Kastanienallee 7-9, Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin, Germany 10435.Clear medium to dark black brown colour with a average, open and frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, sweet burnt malt - caramel, light sugary. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, sweet roasted - burnt malt, sugary. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20121221]

From tap at the Prater biergarten. Pours dark brown with a redish glare and a lacing tan head. Light roasted malt aroma. Flavour is mild spiced, light bitter and lightly spiced breadish malt flavour. Light acidic roasted note into the finish. Light bitter too. (2008) as Prater dunkel (2022) 636313 From tap. Pours golden dark brown, tan head. Aroma is toasted malty. Sweet, caramelish. Roasted, caramelish. Bitter, breadish and dark malty. Toasted malty finish.
