As the name suggests, we’ve used just one variety of hop in this pale golden ale. Brewed with just low colour Maris Otter malt and a little wheat for head retention, we’ve selected some of the more “interesting” hops and added several bucket loads to each brew. Currently we’re using one of our favourites, NZ Motueka. Expect a tropical citrus twist, with hints of lemon and lime.

Cask at Craft Beer Co. It pours golden yellow, with a thin, bubbly white head. The nose is lemon, red apple, pear, honey sweetness and chlorine. The taste is lemon and lime pith, red apple, honey sweetness, pepper, hay and straw, with a long bitter-peppery finish. Light to medium body and soft carbonation. Ok.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 2010. Gold, thin white head. Sharp hop, touch of butter I thought. Bit of biscuit malt. It’s ok, just needs a bit more distinctive hop.

Cask gravity at Oxford Beer Festival, 15-10-09 Pours pale gold with a lovely white cushion of foam, lovely condition. Nice fruity aroma, tropical fruits maybe. Tastes is fruity, soft in mouth, some light malts but good sweet tangy tropical fruits but again palate is nicely soft. Good bitterness throughout that really clings to the roof of the mouth. Nice bittersweet finish with honey showing and some lemon rind. Lovely beer. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Cask-conditioned at the Watershed Cafe, Bristol 8/10/09. Clear gold with a lsight white head. Aroma of pineapple, passion fruit and lemon. Flavour had a brief hint of sweet malts, before tropical fruit and lemon flavours took over, leading to a long, dry finish. Very good.
