As the name suggests, we’ve used just one variety of hop in this pale golden ale. Brewed with just low colour Maris Otter malt and a little wheat for head retention, we’ve selected some of the more “interesting” hops and added several bucket loads to each brew. Currently we’re using one of our favourites, NZ Motueka. Expect a tropical citrus twist, with hints of lemon and lime.

Aroma - Soft zest hop, soft sweet fruits
Taste - Mellow grassy hops, some bitter zest, getting herbal notes here, light sweet fruity malts
Palate - Light body, bit oily. Finish - soft bitter, herbal hop finish
Overall - Well made beer, but not keen on the herbal hops, not really a fan of this

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a hazy yellow straw colour with a broken white head. The aroma is hoppy and a little floral. The flavour is medium bitter, grassy, a little floral and with lots of hoppy bitterness on the palate which lingers into the aftertaste. Not the best in their single hop series, but a great ale all the same.

On tap at Craft. Clear gold beer, little white head. Light semi dry palate. A little mild carbonation. Nice floral hops with some bitter citrus underneath providing contrast. Finishes dry and crisp. Light but characterful.

Cask at CPK, Pimlico, London on 9th September 2011. Gold with thin off white head and travelling band of lacing. Light, hoppy aroma with some berry fruitiness. Floral and grassy hoppiness in-mouth, and an aftertaste of much the same, but with a touch of lemon rind. Easy drinking and light mouthfeel.
