Brewed in collaboration with our besties at Goldwater Brewing, the primary hop in Phantom Water is a new varietal called Alora, which contains extremely elevated amounts of rare oils and compounds that contribute intense citrus, yuzu, peach, and tropical characteristics. HBC 586 brings in big, dank, mango aroma, with El Dorado providing a nice tropical candy element to the profile. A slightly sweet, resin-y stickiness hits the tongue up front, but quickly dissipates, leaving a clean, floral finish.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a crystal clear slightly pale gold colored body that supports a nice white head of foam. The aroma, from the aroma killing tumbler glass, offers up snippets of tropical peach notes and then similar levels of onion like dankiness. The taste delivers a pleasing blend of bitter spicy onion like dankiness and apricot to peach tropical notes. To midway there's a modest vegetable sensation leading the dankness to pick up further depth that's coming across a little tobacco like. I'm not sure if this is the intent but I find it working nicely. Fun beer.
