Munkholm Fatøl har en gyllen farge. Aromaen er preget av halm, høy og kjeks fra malt, og et hint av blomster fra humle. Smaken er lett fyldig med en balansert bitterhet og full maltsmak.

Can 500ml @ Geokkjer
Pours clear deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of sweet malt and wort. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

Can. A clear, golden body under a creamy, big off-white head leaving lacings. The aroma is way too grainy and wort-like, with some fruityness and caramel hints. Sort of puke like initially, but it gets better. It’s thin on the palate, with some strange kind of bitterness and a good carbonation. Bitter, wort-like finish with some fruityness. Well, it’s certainly not a beer that impresses in any way, but as a non-alcohol beer it’s pretty decent. 130516

Big offwhite coarseish head. Clear coppery body with carbonation. Light papery milky rubbery aroma with dandelion notes. Dry-sweet strawy taste with rubbery milky notes. Mid-bodied. Mild mouthfeel. Dryish salty grainy aftertaste with lingering papery notes. A harsh, salty bitterness settles in the mouth after a while. Well. Not really very successful. I’d much rather have Clausthaler than this. (0.5l can, Rimi Østre Strøm, Rælingen.)

0.5l can. This is a crystal clear deep golden one, some unfiltered particles floating about and a medium sized bubbly just off-white top. On the nose there's wort, soft tobacco, sawdust and rye bread. Non-extreme of course, but fair enough. It's below average on the carbonation and thin watery on the mouthfeel. Not to much flavor here really. That distinct slightly burned sawdust thing often found inn these kinds of beer, it's kinda sweet. Lacks bitterness. Easy to drink, but not particular interesting. 20.02.2013

500ml can picked up at a Rema 1000 store. Dark golden body. Dissipating, loose white head. Aroma of hard water added by diluted malts. Mixture of sourish pale malts and vegetables. Sweet, watered, and sour on the swallow. Just about drinkable. Drain pour (Stokmarknes, 02.03.2013).

500 ml can. Not sure how much I believe in draft beer (=fatøl) from a can, but that’s another story. Also not sure where there is a difference between Munkholm Classic and this one, but at least they are both launched at the same time with a new fancy can design, so I have to believe there is a difference without sampling them side by side. Clear golden body with a big off-white head that disappears quite fast. Not much aroma, just a hint of grain. Flavour is light malty with just a hint of bitterness and not so much more. Quite thin body as expected and not much aftertaste. Easy to drink, feels refreshing when cold. Not bad at all for a non-alcoholic beer.
