330ml bottle @ HBF 2013

Pours hazy yellowish with a smooth head. Aroma of malts, grassy hops and hints of butter. Taste is sweetish, malty and slightly hoppy with grassy notes and hints of butter. Finish is sweetish and caramely with hints of soapy notes. Decent pils.

New Beer Distributors, NY 375ml ($4): Pours sexy big white head and golden body. Aroma is grassy hops and a hit of citrus. Taste is somewhat bitter. Very nice and smooth. Some degree of complexity. Nice little pilsner aftertaste with some bitterness lingering about. Quite a good pilsner.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at Old Town Pub, Porvoo, 20130202) The beer poured pale golden and hayz. Its head was medium sized, long lasting and white. Aroma had fruitiness, citricness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, fruitiness, grain and bitterness. Aftertaste was bitter. Resembeled more a pale than a pils but nevertheless a tasty beer.

Bottle @ Dan’s house. Holy shit, my boy Ernie thinks this is the best shit eva, I’m excited. Pours a touch hazy, yellow appearance with a nice fluffy white head. A touch yeasty, rich lemon, straw grainy, light potpourri, baking flour, pretty hoppy aroma. Fairly dry, bright lemon, herbal/dandelion, somewhat rough grainy, nice pils flavor. This is quite nice.

Brought back by my parents from a world cruise: green 375ml bottle, best before 21 Oct 2013. Poured into a Duvel glass on 23 May 2012. Really impressed with this beer: golden with a huge white head. Great tasting brew with a yeasty, piney nose. It may well be classed as a german Pilsner by the brewers but it carries a lot more bite, flavour and body than any other beer I’ve had in that style. Another reason why I’d like to visit New Zealand.

Hazy pale. The aroma is quite yeasty with a nice pear fruitiness, but also some band-aidy phenols. Full body for the style, with lots of yeasty accents. No special character, here, though. The yeast dries it out quite a bit.

(bottle) Poured hazy straw coloured with a big white head. Rich and complex aroma with spices and sweet esters. Light body with plentiful bright carbonation. Flavour starts lightly fruity (citrus with banana hints) and moves to a nice complex spicy bitter finish. Overall a very impressive and drinkable beer.

Bottle. Cloudy gold. White head. Nose/taste of soap, pilsener malt, orange peel, lemon and barley. Some mild spicy hop bitternish in the finish. Quick mostly clean on the palate. Medium body.
