Redhook Pilsner is brewed in a traditional Czech style and is the first pilsner Redhook Ale Brewery has ever released. Red Hook Pilsner offers a very soft palate and malt flavors that are offset by a medium dose of distinct Czech hops to bring out its authentic flavors. The refreshing beer finishes with a clean, bright, thirst-quenching quality.…

Location: 12 oz bottle from Kramer, 5/27/12

Aroma: The nose is dull: some straw, grass, and bread
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color with a white head
Flavor: The taste is light, bready and malty, slightly less dull then the nose
Palate: It's decently crisp, light, and easy drinking with what's best described as an "on-style enough feel"
Overall Impression: This one has a solid (though somewhat dull) Pilsner flavor, but ultimately it is pretty forgettable. There isn't much else to say about it beyond that it is unoffensive, easy drinking, and unremarkable (and I wouldn't have expected anything else from Red Hook).

Harris Teeter, DC sixer ($7): Pours a golden colour with a small head. Aroma is mostly sugary bready. Taste is way far on the sweet side of pilseners. Not enough hoppiness is in this one. Basically, this was just one disappointing step above a macro pale lager.

Bomber from Grocery Outlet in Auburn, CA. Pours brassy gold with a 3 finger foamy white head. There’s a non-descript hop aroma. Med body. It’s bready, and there’s not a lot of hop. It’s just barely bitter. Still, it’s a pleasant drink. Goes down like water. Not comparing it to the watery mainstream brews, just saying it drinks very easy. I’m gulping it down. And I’m beginning to think there is a lot of hop - but not really bitter. Though it seems to be getting more bitter with time. Ok. It’s a decent beer.

Refrigerated bottle (bottled on date July 17, 2011) poured into a shaker. Pours clear pale yellow. Very little lacing, medium body, and medium carbonation. Taste is slightly grainy adjunct malt, off grass taste, and finishes crisp hops. Not good.

Very cool shaped 12oz bottle poured clear deep gold with copper hues and white head. The aroma is sweet malts, spicy hops, some mild malt graininess and floral hops. The taste is similar with pretty bold spicy hops ringed by thin layers of floral hops, grainy malts and sweet maltiness off in the background. A bit too much on the floral side for my taste.

Bottle @ brothers house on Bainbridge. Slightly hazy, golden yellow appearance with a white head. Crisp, light grainy pils, moderate saaz hoppy nose. Sweet, golden, pils, moderately saaz hoppy flavor. Not bad session brew.

12oz bottle. Filtered yellow-tan. Bubbly, soda-like carbonation. Mellow, doughy, inoffensive non-aroma. Light to medium bodied, refreshing. Not quite Bohemian, but still pretty well done. Light peppery hops. Doughy, bitter bread tones. Nothing to get too excited about, but a respectable enough session beer.
