This NW style sour is a crisp, refreshing wheat beer that was barrel-aged for seven months then additionaly aged with strawberries for another eight months. Bright, sweet strawberries and light candy notes greet you in the nose. A light tartness and berry sweetness intermingle on the palate, giving way to a light, sparkling fresh berry tartness in the finish. It is better as a breakfast beer or a dessert? You decide.

Appearance: Cloudy amber with a small off-white head
Aroma: Tart fruit, woody and acidic
Taste: Tart strawberry with a dry finish

Bottle thanks to Sam at the Boise tasting (at least I think it was Sam). Pours a mostly clear red/pink color with a medium white head. The aroma is rich and very nice strawberries, some wood. The flavor is a very sweet natural strawberry, light tartness, a bit of candy. Good.

Draught at the Barrel House. Orange-pink with lace. Aroma of strawberries and yogurt, wheat. Not a huge nose, but subtle and nice, wit a little wood, but not exactly barnyard. Strawberry flavor, creamy, lightly tart, soft carbonation. Light minerals and salt. Good.

Tap at the Barrel House. Pours hazy copper with a white head. Strawberry aroma. Moderate sour flavor with the cleanest strawberry I’ve had. Tart/sour all the way with ongoing fruit. Delicious. Winey in a way. Excellent.

On tap at Cascade Brewing, pours a hazy orange with a small white head. Nose of pure strawberrries, a light sourness, like lightly tart strawberry jam. Flavour doesn't reveal much of the strawberries, with more of the BA tart notes showing - barely a touch of strawberry - mild candied sugar. Overall, a pretty standard sour.
