(Can) Pours clear reddish amber with small tan head. Intense complex smokey aroma. Smoked meat and wood. Full thick sticky body with fine bright carbonation. Intense flavour. Again smokiness is dominant. Smoked meat and wood. There’s umami too. Some toffee sweetness trying to make an appearance around the mid palate, along with some raisin fruitiness. The alcohol is also present but is also dominated by the smoke. An extraordinary beer. It definitely showcases smokiness. On the one hand the complexity in the smokiness is intriguing, on the other hand if the intensity were dialed back a little it would be more enjoyable.
