Keg at the Euston Tap. Opaque black - brown beer, tiny tan head. Palate is silky smooth but peppered with fine carbonation. Creamy dark malt, no roast or bitterness. Nice dark chocolate. Trace of coffee. The coffee is also in the aftertaste along with dark malt. That’s about it - fairly simple but really well done. Smooth and silky and very drinkable.

Keg at the Euston Tap, London. Noted at 8.7%. Pours black-brown with a creamy, brown head. Lovely dark malt nose, notes of burnt brown sugar, charred wood, earth, dark chocolate. Big sweet flavor but not cloying, lots of lightly bitter dark chocolate, brownies, moist chocolate cake, moderate earthy bitterness, some scorched oak. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish with more bittersweet dark chocolate, baking cocoa, hints of licorice and iodine, mud, some burnt toast. Quite robust but I wouldn’t say heavy-handed. Excellent.
