Double mash oak infusion. A sweet, gourmet and powerful Imperial Stout, with a coffee flavor as we like it.

Bottle from Au Brin De Paille, Colmar, Alsace, France, consumed whilst watching England dominate but draw 0-0 with Slovakia at Camping Trois Château Eguisheim, Alsace, France, Monday 20th June 2016. Pours black with a light beige head atop. This is a very solid Impy Stout, drinks far too easily and isn’t the least bit cloying or heavy. Good steady light hoppy vein throughout, roasty with nice bitter chocolate and cocoa powder. I like this, it isn’t massively in yer face, it is just a bit too easy drinking. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

0.33 l bottle from ’Saveur Bière’. Pitch black with a medium large, creamy, stable, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty and a little fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice and hints of dark ripe fruits. Sweetish-malty, moderately roasty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice and burnt nuts, followed by a medium long, roasty-bitter, minimally warming finish. Full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very good, no alcohol detectable at all, maybe lacking some complexity.
