What's darker than Thrash Metal? This Slayer of a stout of course. This umlaut worthy Imperial Stout was brewed for the Metal Gods with copious amounts of chocolate (but not with cocoa N.I.B.s). It may make you Run to the Hills! It may even be your Ace of Spades. I think we are done here. It's time to Fade to Black...

The most potent purchase I made at Freeman’s Liquor on the recent trip to OKC. I’m ready to see how an Oklahoma brewery handles an imperial stout, a tulip glass is in place and I tilt the 12 oz can. I can easily call this a black body and the foam is a nice parchment tan skim. I dig the active carbonation. The nose is heavy with chocolate along with licorice and perhaps some scorched toast. The drink goes a different direction than the scent. The chocolate is there but backs up somewhat, raspberries, grain, malt and a small amount of cane syrup. Dense but not as much as I expect with the large abv content. An all right impy stout not really setting me off.
