I have a 500 ml bottle that came from a Dallas area Total Wine several months ago. The bottle is cooled off and I have a Teku in place to receive the pour. Yep, that is a dark brown body, almost black. The top is a nice taupe cover that dwindles to a ring around the glass. But I do do see a steady stream of bubbles coming up from the bottom and appearing in the middle of the glass. The scent is nicely fragrant, I will say that. I get marshmallow immediately and there follows chocolate malt and something really sweet, coconut I believe. The taste is likewise enjoyable. Caramel, chocolate, the coconut again, vanilla, strawberries and alcohol. The sensation is full and dense, I approve. For as sweet as the beer is, there is also some boozy heat working its way through. Very sweet but that only makes this a sipper. Best imperial stout I have sampled in some time.
