Back in the early summer my son had Liege at the brewery and bought a 16 oz can for me to try later. Well, later is now and here we go. Sampling through my New Belgium glass, I do the pour. A dark mahogany brown with a steady cover of light tan foam. Very fragrant with cinnamon prevailing and maybe a bit of toast. The drink is not what I expected, a bit light for the style. Syrup, cinnamon to a lesser degree than the smell, a small touch of chocolate and a curious entry of sourness. Surprising. It is not often I like the scent more than the taste in a beer. --- Beer merged from original tick of Eerie Liege on 12 Oct 2023 at 00:44 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7.5.
